Mental Health

Mental health is essential to our overall well-being, and I am committed to ensuring that every Utahn has access to quality care. Last year as the Chair of the Education and Mental Health Council and a member of the Behavioral Health Crisis Response Commission, we created the Utah Behavioral Health Commission. This initiative brought together public and private mental health providers, experts, advocates, and individuals with lived experience to create a unified and efficient approach to mental health and substance use care.

Last year, the commission set clear goals, advised on policy and ensured accountability for a more mentally healthy Utah. We're committed to helping both urban and rural communities by working with employers and healthcare providers to ensure no Utahn is left behind. Together we can expand access and build a healthier, stronger Utah.

Some of the legislation I have sponsored and co-sponsored aligning with Mental Health includes:

HB0081 2021 - Mental Health Days for Students [PASSED]

HB0342 2023 - Behavioral Health Services Access Amendments
